Most anticipated releases 2017

With the end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017, I have been seeing a lot of most-anticipated-releases lists and videos. Yet, I have always felt like I am not knowledgeable enough about new releases to make a similar post. However, then, a couple of days ago I realized that I have been saving books on Goodreads in the past couple of months, which are to be released in 2017. So I guess I do have some knowledge of books that are going to be released and that I am pretty excited about… hence the saving them ahead of time on Goodreads. So here it goes, my personal most anticipated releases of 2017.

Top Five Wednesday: 2017 Goals

Ah, I am a day late, but I forgot to check the group for the topics of January 2017. I joined the group towards the end of last year, but had some trouble coming up with Top Fives for December’s themes. However, one of my goals for 2017 is to make more posts and more diverse posts on my blog and I actually have a couple of 2017 Goals, so I really want to start this off well. I have more than five goals for 2017, but this is Top Five Wednesday, right? So I’ll give you my Top Five goals.

To read in January ’17

Considering my move to Florida and the beginning of my semester abroad, I would say my TBR for January 2017 is really really ambitious. However, I am still excited about all these books and really hope I can get to all of them. Some of them have been carried over from my December 2016 TBR, because I didn’t get to them in December, unfortunately.

I have several categories for these books, which also hopefully will help me get through them this January.

So without further ado, here we go…

Wrapping up December ’16

The year is pretty much over and therefore December is, too. I am not really one to put too much significance in the end of a year, because one party on the 31st is not going to just change everything. It’s really just another day. Never the less, I do enjoy the idea of being allowed to start over for yourself and so my first point of action is: I forgive myself for not reading everything I had planned to read in December or this year in general. I am also going to forgive myself for being a shit blogger who really never posts much more than wrap ups. I will try to do better, especially because my semester abroad is coming up and I am pretty much required to keep an online diary about that.

I did still read quite a bit and I enjoyed the books I read this month a lot. I also read quite a bit of nonfiction, which was pretty cool. So without further ado, let’s get into it.

Quick Update: Reorganising my blog

As you may have noticed, I have some trouble updating regularly. This is because I do a hell of a lot of writing in my life. Assignments in my study programme are rather extensive and require a lot of original writing. Apart from that, I write fiction in my free time and I write for a blog by and for International Students. This means, I write a lot every day and even though I love it, at some point I am just drained of inspiration, motivation, and worst of all: creativity!

Therefore, I have decided to reduce my content to, from now on, focus solely on reading and writing with an emphasis on reading. This means, I hope to be able to publish more reviews and other reading/book related posts, such as tags or question lists.

For writing, I want to focus on tips and tricks that work for me and that I feel, I should share. It will also feature irregular updates, ideas, and probably a good bit of random word vomit.

I hope to also upload essays on issues that interest me every now and again, but this is going to be very irregular.

I am also looking for a new theme and will hopefully have better featured images soon to make the blog look more consistent and visual.

To read in December ’16

I go on and on in my posts about how busy I am and yet I still pack my TBRs full of books in the hope that just maybe I will actually be able to meet my goal for once… Here we go.

I have a couple of sections in this book, starting with “Currently Reading”. I started these two books on November 30th and am pretty much almost finished, but obviously they were still late for my November Wrap Up. Then there is my normal TBR, one re-read section, and a “Non-Fiction” section. Last but not least, there is a “Audiobook” section for my new goal to listen to at least one audiobook each month.
